First Mover Trade Mission to Myanmar (September 23 – 26, 2013)

First Mover Trade Mission to Myanmar (September 23 – 26, 2013)

July 13, 2013 0

sponsored by the California Centers for International Trade Development (CITD)

The California STEP Myanmar “first mover” trade mission is intended to provide market entry support for companies that are active in emerging markets. It is focused on supporting B2B activities by connecting California companies to major importers and trading houses, and B2G marketing activities to plug into government and multi-lateral bank projects. Targeted sectors include Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and Lifestyle Products, as well as Infrastructure Projects.

September 23-26, 2013:
Yangon, Myanmar: Introduction to a cross section of industry players; customized meeting schedule with pre-screened potential buyers and strategic partners, organized by established local marketing firms and industry associations.

Targeted sectors include:
Fast Moving Consumer Goods & Lifestyle Products: (foods, consumer packaged goods, personal care, personal communications and branded goods) – consumption of global products is increasing due to availability and awareness of imports after opening trade only 12 months ago; with additional demand driven by a doubling of inbound tourists. Participating companies will be introduced to major retailers and wholesale importers.

Infrastructure – airports, ocean ports, transportation infrastructure, power, banking and communications. Infrastructure is extremely underdeveloped. Capital is flowing in from the global investment community to build and modernize a broad range of infrastructure projects. Participating companies will be introduced to prime and sub-contractors for the major procurements and engage in B2G meetings.

Space will be limited to the first 6 committed companies

Cost: A $1,000 deposit will secure a spot on this mission, which will be refunded only after completion of the trade mission, no-shows will not receive a refund. Matchmaking services, receptions and events will be complementary for California STEP eligible businesses. All travel, accommodation, incidental costs and risks are on participating companies own account.
