WELCOME TO NETWORK OF MYANMAR AMERICAN ASSOCIATION

The Network of Myanmar American Association (NetMAA) is a non-profit and non-partisan organization that operates under the provision of Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code (IRS). NetMAA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, and all donations made to it are tax-deductible in accordance with the IRS regulations.

Vision and Mission:

NetMAA’s vision and mission are to support and promote education, social issues, Myanmar (Burmese) arts, and culture in the United States. The organization’s primary goal is to educate the Myanmar (Burmese) community about our rich cultural heritage and build bridges of friendship with other diverse communities.

Who We Are?

The Network of Myanmar American Association (NetMAA) is a non-profit, non-partisan, and non-political organization founded in early 2006. It is entirely run by volunteers and operates under the provisions of Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Code.

NetMAA is NOT involved in any political or religious issues. We welcome everyone from all races, ethnicities, and religions to become members and participate in our activities. Our mission is to unite all Myanmar-American associations and strengthen our diverse Myanmar-American community as a cohesive unit. It is essential that we speak with one voice to preserve and promote our cultural heritage and progress for present and future generations of Myanmar Americans.

Myanmar Community Outreach:

Recognizing that culture is a vital social asset, NetMAA works with community and cultural leaders to design programs that build long-term social bonds and increase public participation through outreach programs. Throughout the year, NetMAA organizes various programs to benefit the Myanmar-American community. These programs include arts and culture events, a film festival, photo exhibitions, concerts, a Labor Day weekend excursion (the Annual Myanmar Families Adventure), and U.S. Immigration service assistance.

Within a short period, NetMAA’s community outreach programs have grown from one non-art program in 2006 to five programs in 2008. NetMAA achieved these significant milestones with very limited funds. By 2009, NetMAA had presented eight outreach programs throughout the year to benefit the Myanmar-American community. The organization’s community outreach programs are funded through various sources, including sponsorships, donors, grants, and benefit concerts.
