Aung Min Naing, the president and cofounder of the Network of Myanmar American Association (NetMAA), was the recipient of “2009 Heritage Award” in recognition of his dedicated services to the Southeast Asian communities of Southern California.  The Aquarium of the Pacific in California awarded him the “Heritage Award” on the 5th Annual Southeast Asia day held on Saturday, October 3, 2009.

NetMAA is the non-profit organization that serves the Myanmar community and promotes the art and culture of Myanmar, also known as Burma.  Because of Mr. Naing’s initiation and devotion to Myanmar community with countless volunteer hours, younger generations of Myanmar Americans who have become detached from Burmese culture can be reconnected with their heritage.
