President & Co-founder’s Message:
Mingalarbar!
Welcome to the website of the Network of Myanmar American Association (NetMAA). Whether you stumbled upon us through a Google search or intentionally sought us out, we’re glad you found us!
NetMAA, a non-profit community-based organization is run by a passionate, motley crew of talented people who love film and the arts, global citizenship, Myanmar-American culture, and being connected in a positive, meaningful way. We’re like family here and hope you have a chance to experience one of our many year-round events.
While it was founded in early 2006, the Network of Myanmar American Association is a non-partisan, non-political, and non-profit organization. NetMAA is incorporated on July 10, 2006, and it was the FIRST and ONLY Myanmar (Burmese) community-based organization in the U.S. dedicated to maintain and promote Myanmar arts, culture, films, and music.
In addition to continuing and expanding our current activities, NetMAA will embark upon several new programs to effectively represent our memberships. I look forward to getting to know as many members of our Myanmar American community as I can, as well as our supporters and partners in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and throughout the U.S.
The beauty of our organization is that we have created a place where not only Myanmar American people but everyone is welcome to share and discover stories that connect us as human beings. It is a place where we can laugh, cry, learn new perspectives, and ultimately expand our minds through the power of arts.
We need your support. If you agree, we hope that you will support us by simply subscribing to our email, attend our events, add us as a friend on Facebook, Twitter, or better yet, become a member of our Organization. We want to be connected with YOU!
As always, I welcome your questions, comments, or suggestions.
Sincerely,
Aung M. Naing, P.E
