FREE Myanmar (Burmese) Cultural Dance Class in Los Angeles Area: July & August, 2016
Learn to Dance!
Everyone is welcomed specially those young friends age 6 and up, young adults, and all adults who wish to learn the Myanmar (Burmese) culture dances.
Myanmar Traditional art is an important part of our living heritage. It represents a sense of beauty, skills, knowledge, and community values refined over many generations. The dance academy provides Myanmar/Burmese youth with opportunities that will spark a lifetime interest in learning and cultural understanding. It is open to the general public especially to second-generation Myanmar (Burmese) – American youths in our community.
The traditional dance performance is designed to increase understanding, support, and recognition of the cultural impacts of continued migration and connection between Myanmar, Asia, and the United States. We participate in various cultural performances such as at the Pacific Asian Museum of Pasadena, Southeast Asia Day at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, Asian Cultural Festival of San Diego, Asian Pacific Islander American Heritage Month (APIAHM) celebration in the city of Los Angeles, World Refugee Day Celebration in Anaheim, Annual Myanmar New Year/Water Festival in Los Angeles and other renowned cultural events.
