Happy Holidays from Net Myanmar
Dear Community Members,
A New Vision
As 2016 comes to a close, I can’t help but look back on the busy and eventful year that we’ve had, and feel proud to be part of the Net Myanmar organization.
We have come a long way from the first meeting of founders and board members in Monterey Park, California in March 2006. Now, 10 years later, there is no other Myanmar (Burmese) community organization in the United States like the Network of Myanmar American Association (NetMAA) – an organization that is completely dedicated and devoted to support and promote education, social issues, and arts and culture – and we are growing every day. Our mission and vision are straightforward.
We are at the start of an extraordinary period of growth for the Network of Myanmar American Association (NetMAA). In the next few years, we will grow by another 2 or 3 outreach programs in addition to the existing eight programs.
Locally, we continue to improve established working relationship with Myanmar/Burmese American and Asian American community organizations throughout the United States. And internationally, especial with country of Myanmar, we are going to increase our networking and collaborating with the Myanmar Consulate-General Office in Los Angeles. These partnerships are essential to the advancement of promoting social issues and cultural heritage awareness in our Myanmar American community.
Thank you for supporting the Net Myanmar during these past 10 years. I am extremely proud of Net Myanmar’s commitment to each other and our community. Each and every one of you worked hard to continue to make Net Myanmar shine. I want to personally thank you for your efforts. I also wish to extend my heartfelt appreciation to our sponsors, donors, board of directors, and members. Your continued support makes our successes possible.
I would also like to take a moment to wish you a safe and happy holiday season. Enjoy your time with your families, and remember to pause and reflect on all that you have accomplished in 2016. You should be proud of yourselves—I know I am!
Sincerely,
Aung Min Naing
President
