Job Opening: Community Outreach & Event Coordinator (Part-Time)
The Network of Myanmar American Association (NetMAA) is seeking a part-time Community Outreach & Event Coordinator who will be responsible for outreach and organizing community events for the organization.
A Bachelor’s Degree is required; will also consider any relevant work experience. Valid driver’s license and auto insurance is required. The candidate must have strong computer skills, be self-motivated, and possess highly developed interpersonal skills. The schedule for this position will be 8- 16 hours per week (evenings and weekends) depending on the events.

Duties:
- Organize community meetings and community events, as necessary.
- Work with community organizations to plan and develop effective outreach programs.
- Create flyers, press releases & other outreach materials, as required.
- Assist grant-writing team to secure funding for the organization.
- Perform miscellaneous projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Expertise:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, political science, public policy, education, community development, creative studies, or related fields.
- Must understand the community’s culture and ethnicity and be able to take advantage of its opportunities and respond positively to its challenges.
- Two plus years of business development experience. Marketing experience highly desirable.
Job Knowledge and Skills:
- Possess strong strategic thinking skills.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Experience in planning and facilitating meetings, identifying community needs, working with community leaders and volunteers of diverse backgrounds.
- Grant writing, project administration, and grant evaluation experience.
- Exhibit strong public speaking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Knowledge of publishing software.
