The Office of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, the Central American Resource Center (CARECEN), the Network of Myanmar American Association (NetMAA) are partnering to offer an informational webinar to the Myanmar/Burmese community on Temporary Protected Status.
We received some wonderful news this week: registration for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Burma is now open!
The Department of Homeland Security announced a designation of TPS for Burma (Myanmar) for 18 months on March 12, 2021, effective from May 25, 2021 through November 25, 2022. This would allow some people from Burma currently in the U.S. who meet certain requirements to remain in the United States temporarily and work. The 180-day initial registration period runs from May 25, 2021 through November 22, 2021. Please check out our attached flyer with more information for those who would be directly impacted.
