Myanmar (Burmese) New Film "Kyoe Tane" is coming to Los Angeles Independent Theater (Sept.12 & 13 )

A Myanmar (Burmese) new film, “Kyoe Tann,” sponsored by the Network of Myanmar American Association (NetMAA) will be shown at the 2nd Myanmar Film Festival in Los Angeles on September 2009.  The festival is a two-day event; and there will be a screening of Two Myanmar Films based on the Myanmar culture. 

The “Kyoe Tann” movie has been shown at the cinemas in Yangon

since April 17, 2009 (after Thingyan Festival). This movie is directed by Myanmar famous director Mee Pwar, starring famous actors: Kyaw Hein, Kyaw Ye Aung, and famous actresses: Htun Aeindra Bo, and Soe Myat Thuzar.

The story is based on the families of two poor fishermen who live on the sandbank. These two families fight one another because of their poverty. The movie clearly gives the message that nothing is permanent in our human lives, and hatred, anger, greediness, and selfishness can create enormous bad things to our lives.
